The Druid Inn at Birchover is a very popular dining pub, very friendly and helpful staff, even when busy. This delightful creeper clad country inn has two restauarants (one non-smoking) and servers a wide range of dishes including a vegetarian menu. This Inn was one of our favourites but new ownership and we await reports. There is a good selection of real ales including Druid from the Leatherbriches brewery. Children welcome. Real ales. Well worth a visit. Very popular during summer weekends and has a large car park. There is a small , patiio area with garden sets with a good view. On the other side of the road is the Millenium Stone and there is an easy walk up to the Nine Ladies Stone Circle on Stanton Moor.

We visited The Druids Inn for the second time and have no issues at all with it. My husband ordered the steak "medium" and it was! My daughter (12 years old) ordered the King Prawn Linguine and hadn't realised that it would be too spicey and the chef kindly re-did her one without the chilly - Yummy! The Cumberland Sausage with Mustard Mash and Onion Gravy, was wonderful. Keep up the good work and see you next time!

Myself and 8 other friends visited this pub 5th April 2008. This pub had come highly recommended, we knew it was on the pricey side but for a good quality meal & service you don't mind and it was my birthday. We were so disappointed we were put in a dingy looking side room and not the restaurant no nice ambience what so ever. Myself and two others had the "7hour braised lamb shank shepherds pie with braised red cabbage" expecting a tasty dish with lovely creamed potatoes. How wrong- the lamb although was tasty but very little gravy, the potatoes not creamy and tasteless and a huge lump of fatty lamb. One lady had the fish pie couldn't eat hers either. When we were asked if everything was ok we told them it wasn't there was no apology the head waiter then came in said "he'd tasted the pie and there was nothing wrong with it that is how we serve it" when served with our meals they didn't serve from behind us but reached over the table. The evening for the 9 of us cost £270.00 for this I would have expected a good friendly service and nice food that you could eat we got neither. I wouldn't recommend this pub at all

The food is now absolutely first-rate - good quality produce, well-cooked and excellently presented.

Found the Druids Inn purely by chance, taking a short stop to walk the dogs, and intending to have just a quick drink. The welcome and the ambience of the Inn tempted us to see the menu, electing to have the set 3 course menu meals. They were superb, and we shall certainly recommend the Inn to others and revisit whenever again in the Peak District.

We found the druids by chance and we are really glad we did.
We started using a Peak District Walking guide and the starting point was the Druids Car Park.
We live in Buxton and W
will keep going back because we think its one of the best restaurants in the area.

The food and service were excellent and you get what you pay for, the waiter said that we would be back and he is right we have booked for Valentines Night.

An excellent evening with fabulous well presented food, from quality ingredients.Simple yet elegant menu choices. Only criticism would be the rather sterile design of the dining area which is an odd mixture of contemporary and country pub.

Have been here a number of times under the old regime, and were very happy with the new owners who provided excellent food and service!

Found this place from the AA pub guide, not realising it had changed hands. The food was excellent and the staff really friendly. It is more than pub grub and the prices reflect it. You get what you pay for!

Friendly staff and good food, if a little pricey. Traditional outside and very smart and modern inside, will be back around Christmas

We dined here earlier in the year and found it to be excellent. We again booked for Sunday lunch with friends and found it if possible even better. It has to be special to travel over two hundred miles round trip for lunch and we will do that again and again in the future. To be highly recommended.

Having dined here in April and enjoyed the experience, we booked again for Sunday Lunch. The food and service was excellent - even better than last time. We would recommend The Druid Inn to anyone.
