Such a friendly pub. Lots of peaceful dogs, wonderful home-cooked food. Fires in all rooms and the landlady very laidback and welcoming. |

Spent a few hours at the Royal after a December walk and really enjoyed the fine choice of real ales, tasty curry (mid-afternoon!) and friendly atmosphere. The evening bistro menu (not curries!) looks tempting and the food is said to be very good. If the curry is anything to go by, that's true. The Royal is possbly a surpise location for such an ambitious landlady & chef but it's well worth a visit. Book first if you want to eat there in the evenings! There aren't many tables ... |
