11:56 22/05/07 This is the best pub I've ever been to, lovely food and great service |
12:02 09/05/07 The presentation of my starter of chicken liver parfait was abysmal. The salad was spread all over the plate. The cranberry chutney dumped in the centre of that, with the chicken liver parfait placed on top of that.A small salad garnish would have sufficed. The chicken liver parfait was nothing spectacular. My wife's prawn cocktail was acceptable, though she did complain of the raw carrot being too large in the salad. My main of pan fried black bream was on the dryish side, the flavour was excellent. The accompanying veg, cabbage was fine, carrots raw and I mean raw, the potatoes had the reheated taste, the mini sweet corn not very English. My wife's T bone she had requested medium rare, it was served rare, it was also tough and chewy.Service? the waitresses could have been more friendly. |
12:31 31/01/06 The Cock Inn is now under the management of the two chefs who have been there for the past 14 years. We had a meal for two and couldn't fault anything at all - everything excellent!! Due to open a restaurant here within next few months - can't wait! |
05:08 18/01/05 Had a lovely meal there in November 2004, warm and friendly atmosphere with historical connections too - terrific |
11:53 10/07/04 A huge fish menu seems amazing in this landlocked area but they carry it off very well. Menu includes many favourites such as lamb, shank, salmon, trout, etc but don't be surprised to find some lesser known fish and more challenging dishes on there too. |
