| The Miners Arms at Brassington is a popular traditional country pub that dates back to at least 1747 when it was first mentioned. It was used by the Baron Court to grant licenses for miners and sort out problems. Serves well kept real ales and good range of good value food. Roast dinners all week. (Sunday lunch £6.50). Blackboard specials. Vegetarian food available. Home cooked food using fresh vegetables. Dining area, no separate restaurant. Children welcome. Dogs allowed. Garden.

08:56 22/05/10 We found this pub through the doggie pubs site. No welcome, the pub smelt of the toilets, and despite a sign outside stating that food was served we were told that they were not cooking that night. In any event, after having smelt the toilets and noted that the pub was dirty we would not have wanted to eat there anyway. |

21:49 21/09/08 A distictly average Sunday lunch menu, with a taste of school dinners, subtly complimented by yellow paintwork on the walls. Not unpleasant, but in no way anything other than ordinary. It was a nice touch be be offered a free dessert when our first menu hoice was unavailable and the other option was more expensive. |
13:59 08/08/07 From the outside the Pub looked liked it was closed down and I was a bit sceptical about going inside - Never judge a book by its cover. Although the garden was rather overgrown (which is why we sat inside even though the sun was out for the first time in months) the food and the staff made it all worthwhile. The Beef and Stilton pie was amazing and the home made chips were fantastic. So much food on the plate I didn't eat anything else from Sunday Lunch time till Monday morning!!!! |
16:59 06/01/07 Overall our visit was a little disappointing due to the cold back room where we were seated. 9 of us visited for a family birthday 2 days before Christmas, there was no atmosphere or any background music. Service was a little poor and when served with hot desserts had to ask twice for spoons and waited five minutes for these as well as two desserts being forgotten. We appreciate that there was a party on in the other room, with Christmas decorated tables and roaring fires but felt we had been shoved out of the way and forgotten. Although the food was excellent, customer service could be improved.

13:08 23/01/06 Sunday Lunch was excellent, generous portions, splendid quality and welcoming Landlord. Pity I was driving, the beer looked good too. We'll be back |
16:13 13/01/06 I have visited this pub on a number of occassions over the past few years. On my own, with friends and with the grandchildren. The landlord, landlady and staff have always been polite, attentive and efficient. There is a good choice of food which can be eaten in a non-smoking area (advisable to book). The food portions and quality are good, especially the pies. It is a real pub with a good choice of real ales, the Banks Original is particularly good. |
12:11 25/07/05 Just cycling through Brassington and came across the Miners. Excellent beer, food and landlord and landlady. We will definitely return |

11:57 15/12/03 The landlord and landlady are second to none, they are friendly and perfect hosts. The food was excellent, I can really recommend the yorkshire puddings... |
10:43 18/08/03 We have just stayed in brassington for a week and I would like you to pass on my comments to the landlady and landlord on this pub. The food was excellent and they made our whole family feel welcome. I would recommend this pub if anyone is in the area. |
