Have just visited Poltimore Arms a week after new ownwers took over and it is even better than before! Warm and friendly hosts. Bar has had a 'freshen up' but wonderful Exmoor atmosphere retained, and yes still powered by the generator! Food absolutely fab, great local meat and Bailleys tiramasu which is to die for!New real ale 'Gundog' produced in Combe Martin which is a real find. Definitely worth a visit. |

best food I know in a unique pub with no mains electricity. Excellent beers and service in this family run service out in the wilds. The chef (the wife) knows how to use herbs and flavourings.
booking essential, I failed to get in one first two visits!!
cards not accepted, no mains electricity.

Excellent home cooked food (especially the sticky toffee pudding!)in a really lovely atmosphere. Take a cheque book though as they don't take cards! |

100% recommended. If you want brilliant food in a genuine atmosphere, excellent service including the landlord. Booking essential for most of the year.
