What a gem.

A mixed experience for our Sunday lunch. A special Sunday lunch meal was not on the menu, but offered at £ 8.95. The portions were good, beef & lamb tender, but vegetables lacked imagination. Service from two young waitresses was friendly, but showed lack of knowledge & experience (e.g. a coffee re-fill was served away from the table and cups got mixed up). What really soured the generally good impression was that you have to watch the bill. No break-down of meals & drinks was offered, we were over-charged and only when we insisted on the breakdown (still wrong in a couple of items) was the bill finally put right. The pub has a lot to offer, atmosphere is fine, but it left us with a bad feeling re bill. The deserts by the way were fine, but over-priced (Note! - no prices on the menu).
