The Fox Inn at Loxley serves good value home cooked food. The pub has a passion for seafood and good service. Fish platter nights are a must with whole lobsters, dressed crabs, smoked salmon and halibut. Garden. Good choice of real ales.

14:45 06/11/08 absolutely brilliant |
10:10 15/08/08 I've driven past this pub regularly for the last 5 years. I am SO glad that I finally stopped to eat there, enticed in by the mention of seafood platters, fresh produce, and lively number of people entering the establishment. Pretty frontage in a nice village. It has a lively, warm ambiance even mid-week when you'd expect a quieter time. The promise of a seafood evening has been tempting me for ages - lobster, crab, oysters. Their specials board regularly displays scallops, king prawns... and their steak is excellent too, so not just a fishy kind of place. Wicked cider too. All in all, my favourite dining experience at the moment. I just wish the weather was nice enough to enjoy a cider out in their patio garden. Thanks, don't change anything please. Don't become one of these overrated gastropubs. |
08:27 09/07/08 We live in Wellesbourne and have only recently started to visit The Fox. However we wish we had started going there sooner! We always enjoy eating there, plus the friendly atmosphere is so welcoming, we now return on a regular weekly basis. We have also booked a table for their upcoming theme night 'Greek Night'. The staff are always very friendly & you sense that nothing is too much trouble. The food is well presented and the variety they offer is a bonus (very long specials board!). I think the only 1 issue we had was with a homemade burger which was served still dripping blood onto the ciabatta roll, which was not exactly how we would have liked it, and we were not aware that it would be cooked in that way. But not a huge problem. It is obvious overall they take pride over the food/ cooking and is certainly worth a visit. It can get VERY busy at weekends, so you should consider booking ahead. It is the only village pub we go to where it is busy from the moment they open their doors, which says a lot! |
16:03 21/05/08 An independent pub with charm style and a real family atmosphere. We will be back wow ! |
16:44 08/03/07 a passion for seafood and fresh fish |
18:53 16/03/06 This isnt a gastropub but is all the better for it. What you do get at The Fox is fresh 'home style' cooked food. There appears to be none of microwaved variety here that proliferates at so many pubs offering food these days. The specials board changes daily according to what is available with fresh fish being a regular. I've eaten at The Fox maybe 4 or 5 times now and wouldnt hesitate to recommend it. |
16:46 16/09/05 Nice friendly, helpful and accomodating...but quite expensive...on the plus side the chef lives next door! |
20:52 27/07/05 There was a varied menu, the food and service was first class. I look forward to returning in the near future. A place I shall not hesitate to recomend. |
08:48 10/04/05 Having been a resident of Warwickshire for many years I have seen the Fox at Loxley undergo several incarnarnations, however the latest is it's finest yet.
Ina wonderful location, the pub offers a quality of food & service that many pubs & restaurants in & around Stratford struggle & often fail to match. Tha atmosphere is warm & friendly to locals & tourists alike. The menu is varied, home cooked & speciality evenings (such as fish nights) are extremely popular. I would advise booking to guarantee a table.
I would like to wish the new landlord & landlady all the success they deserve for the obvious effort that they have put in to make visiting the Fox at Loxley an experience well worth repeating. |
