Had the game casserole and it was sublime. Nice log fire , but a little cold in the corners. Was nicely busy. and seemed only one waitress and 4 memebers of bar staff. all very attentive and will be returning again in a few weeks for valentines. :-) |

i have been to springfields a good many times in the past 12 months..... what a nice traditional place it is!
three of us went on the 30th of september... i would highly advise you try the sutffed pork !
i, along with many of my friends will be returning to springfields for a good many years to come, dont know what these other comments are about, stating poor service/food as this is not true!! |

I have been to the springfield a number of times now, and will also be going back. The food is lovely and fresh and also served with a smile. I have recommended the springfield to many of my friends and they have also had a lovely experience when dinning there. |

Been going to The Springfield many times,I love the decor,log fires,and the food is gorgous.The girls that serve bring out drinks whenever our party requires them,then for our convienience pay at the end of the night with my card!! Excellent pubs are hard to find,support the best ones!! |

When we first ate here we thought we had found a super place to eat with friends. On recent visits the food, and service has deteriorated terribly. Such a lovely venue, so please, please employ a quality chef, and notify me when you do, and my family and friends will return! |

I have just returned from The Springfield today, having experienced a wonderful meal with my 80 year old mother. this was our first visit for food, having visited a couple of weeks ago for the first time just for a drink and to "suss" the place out. The chef certainly hasn't died as mentioned below. This pub has a wonderful ambient atmosphere, it is friendly but not intrusive and I would certainly recommend it to anyone. The menu choice is excellent, with something to suit the tastes of everyone, children included. The service was excellent, the meals came quickly, were hot and looked very appetising. They were! We will definitely return again. |

I was very surprised to see such negative comments prior to mine,as 8 of us ate here yesterday and had wonderful meals.It was extremely busy, but we still had lovely fresh tasty meals and good service.Great atmosphere and decor too.Big thumbs up from us! |

Party of 10 on Saturday 15 Feb 2008, 2 Dover Sole meals sent back-too cold to eat. Following day 2 more chicken meals were reported as not satisfactory, but 'did not want to make a fuss'. Altogether a very expensive bad meal. Won't go again, nor would we ever recommend. |

Went into this pub for the first time in a long while, used to be good. Changed hands. Soup and bread was very nice, but waited ages for full crusted thick meat pie - fit for a truckers meal - salty chips and undercooked fish batter - was really disappointed. It was well overpriced for these meals - limited menu and no decent afters. Will not be going again. |

Hotel room was dirty, squalid, furnishings etc were shabby. Dirty crockery in room and restaurant. Never again. |
