Good food and a varied menu which we drove an hour from Winchester to reach. Very nice atmosphere in the split-level restaurant area - lots of family groups, very relaxed, an almost French provincial feel to the place. Pleasant service and no sense of being hurried along although we didn't leave until 4pm. However, our table in the bar area was incredibly sticky - no problem with the restaurant table though! We would definitely recommend this pub to others. |

superb food served by friendly efficient staff excellent atmosphere . Good time was had by all ,vast improvement on previous management . Definately will return and recommend to others .

I think the comments made in Dec 04 reflect the previous owners. We had an excellent meal in a very nice pub with very good service. On our second visit the whole experiance was again excellent and we plan to go again to sample the Christmas menu. |

I've just read a review on your website for the Hand and Shears in Church Hanborough Oxfordshire and felt I must add my opinion. We live locally but had not visited the Hand and Shears for some time as we felt the atmosphere stuffy and the food over priced. So when we heard that it had changed hands we thoughtt we'd give it a try. The food was beautiful the service was efficient, the atmosphere was pleasent and relaxed complemented by low lights and a roaring open fire. We also enjoyed a very reasonable and good Merlot. It was a pleasure, leaving me saying, Good Food, Good Service, Right attitude. |

Nice bar with log fire - attractive restaurant - very relaxed atmosphere - had a lovely evening. Tasty food - good vegetarian - variety and enough to eat ! |

Bad Food, Bad service, Bad attutiude. Recently changed hands and was a complete let down,which is a shame because it use to be good! |
